Rodents and the Colima Road closures
LA County can close a food facility for a vermin infestation under California Health and Safety Code section 114259.1. Since early 2025, county records and news reports based on county data confirm six such closures in Rowland Heights: three on Colima Road in AprilβMay 2025, one on S. Fullerton Road in March 2025, and two in September 2026 on E. Colima Road and Labin Court. The reports don't say whether rodents or insects were found.
In restaurant and market buildings, rodents most likely get in through back doors propped open for deliveries, gaps where pipes and conduit pass through walls, and openings near grease bins and dumpsters. Inside, dry storage β rice, flour, boxed goods β is where droppings tend to turn up first.
Our commercial rodent service combines door sweeps and gap sealing, trapping inside, and sanitation recommendations for storage and trash areas, with dated service reports for your files.

Utility lines, garages and rooflines on homes from the 1960s and '70s
Rowland Heights' median build year is 1976, and 53% of homes date from 1960 to 1979. Many have since had air conditioning, cable and new dryer vents added, and every one of those additions cut a hole through stucco or wood that may never have been sealed properly.
On these houses we check where AC lines and conduit enter the wall, roof-to-wall junctions and fascia corners, attic and crawl-space openings, dryer vent flaps, and the bottom edge of garage doors. Openings are closed with hardware cloth, sheet metal and copper or steel mesh packed with sealant, and we photograph each repair so you can see what was done.

Open land, pets and fleas
Schabarum Regional Park covers 575 acres in Rowland Heights, and about 500 of them are kept natural. Homes near large open areas are likely to see more visits from rodents and from animals such as opossums, especially when hot weather dries out food and water on the hillsides.
That matters beyond chewed wiring. LA County Public Health counted 220 flea-borne typhus cases in 2025, the most ever, and ties the infected fleas to rats, stray cats and opossums. The 2025 clusters the county described were outside the San Gabriel Valley, so these are county-wide numbers, not a Rowland Heights statistic β but keeping rodents out and pets on year-round flea protection lowers the risk. PesPro offers flea and tick control alongside rodent work; we do not handle wildlife removal.
